Design Challenge
The challenge in the design was primarily to find an ideal dimension that would provide both mobility and capacity. While the bubble column-based form ensures a unique design, it also brings a unique technical challenge. The product needed to provide a pick-and-place point as wide as possible in an extremely compact body and to guarantee a pleasing external curve. The designers therefore paid particular attention to minimizing the size of the gaps and their location.
Project Duration
Opening of the project in 2018/8, first sale in 2020/2.
Operation Flow
The series of products provide users with a variety of choices, including messenger bags, briefcases, Tote bags and backpacks, to meet the different travel needs of users.
Research
Aligned with the NIO brand, the collection embodies a mobile, open, sustainable and positive future, utilizing the best practice in recycling and material technology. Taking cues from familiar interior spaces, the collection offers the comforts of home to the next generation, nomadic, eco-conscious NIO user.

Project Overview
Tube Collection Bags has been a Silver winner in the Fashion and Travel Accessories Design award category in the year 2021 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition. The Silver A' Design Award celebrates top-tier designs that embody excellence and innovation. This award acknowledges creations that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also highly functional, reflecting the designer's deep understanding and skill. Silver A' Design Award recipients are recognized for their contribution to raising industry standards and advancing the practice of design. Their work often incorporates original innovations and elicits a strong emotional response, making a notable impact on the improvement of everyday life.
