Production Technology

Design Challenge
Foam molding with EVA material is difficult to make the body uniform in size. The most difficult part was that any error in the size of the body would result in the corresponding insole and outsole sizes not matching. Until we were satisfied with the results, we made fine adjustments to the foaming rate and realized the commercialization of the product.

Inspiration
In Japan, there is a long tradition of wearing slip-on sandals called "tsukkake." The Japanese word "tsukkake" refers to the motion of slipping one's toes into a shoe. That is how this easy-to-wear style of footwear earned its name.In recent years, fewer and fewer households have placed "tsukkake" in their homes. However, my brand FRONTIER did not want to lose this uniquely Japanese culture. Therefore, we developed a slip-on shoe that fits the modern lifestyle and can be worn both at home and in town.
Project Overview
Bisole Footwear has been a Silver winner in the Footwear, Shoes and Boots Design award category in the year 2022 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition. The Silver A' Design Award celebrates top-tier designs that embody excellence and innovation. This award acknowledges creations that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also highly functional, reflecting the designer's deep understanding and skill. Silver A' Design Award recipients are recognized for their contribution to raising industry standards and advancing the practice of design. Their work often incorporates original innovations and elicits a strong emotional response, making a notable impact on the improvement of everyday life.
